Accessibility and Facilities

The Goethe-Erlebnisweg is fully equipped to ensure you can relax and enjoy your hike. Along the route, you will find rest areas, shelters, and quiet places to rest. These features make the trail ideal for families with children, older adults, and anyone who needs a break.

Accessibility is particularly important to us. The section between Hochdorf and Neckenroda is completely barrier-free. This means that people with limited mobility, families with strollers, and senior citizens can experience the trail safely and comfortably. This page provides all the essential information about the facilities, accessible offerings, and useful tips for an inclusive hike in Weimarer Land.

Rast & Relax

There are lots of gorgeous places to rest and relax along the whole adventure trail. No matter where you look, there are plenty of places to sit and rest. Whether it's comfy benches in the trees, useful seating areas, or a meadow where you can spread out your picnic blanket, you'll find opportunities to take a well-deserved break everywhere. Our adventure stations are great for exploring and taking a break. There are lots of rest stops along the way, so you can take a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, look out at the rolling hills and forests, and recharge. This will make your hike more relaxed and mindful.

Toilets & WCs

We have many quiet corners, but sometimes you are looking for just that one quiet spot. You will find public toilets at the starting point in Weimar and in Rudolstadt. On the route itself, we recommend visiting our recommended hosts, who often also provide sanitary facilities for hikers.

Barrier-free Zone

The barrier-free section of the Goethe-Erlebniswegs between Hochdorf and Neckenroda is almost three kilometers long. It is particularly suitable for people with limited mobility, families with baby carriages and older people. The path is flat, well-surfaced and leads without steps through a peaceful landscape with wide views and small forest passages. The route offers a relaxed way to experience yourself and nature, regardless of mobility or fitness level.

Digital Accessibility

The Goethe-Erlebnisweg and our website should be easy to use for as many people as possible, and we are working to ensure that they are both as accessible as possible. That is why we are constantly working to reduce digital barriers and improve accessibility. If you encounter any barriers while visiting the site or have any questions, please contact us by phone or click the contact button. We look forward to assisting you.

Waymarks are used to identify the path and show its course in both directions.
